Chihuahua and Querétaro Universities Forge Alliance to Boost Aerospace Training and Innovation

In a significant move to strengthen Mexico's aerospace sector, the Polytechnic University of Chihuahua (UPCH) and the Aeronautical University of Querétaro (UNAQ) have signed a comprehensive academic collaboration agreement. The alliance is designed to foster joint projects in student mobility, faculty development, and cutting-edge technological research.
The agreement, formalized during a ceremony in Querétaro, was signed by the respective rectors, Cristopher James Barousse of UPCH and Enrique Gerardo Sosa of UNAQ. This partnership aims to create a robust framework for cooperation between two of the country's key institutions in aerospace education.
The collaboration encompasses a multi-faceted approach to academic and professional development. Central to the agreement are academic and faculty exchange programs, which will include courses, workshops, seminars, and diploma programs focused on updating knowledge and enhancing educational practices. Furthermore, the universities will promote student exchange programs within the Associate's Degree (TSU) program, alongside a joint effort to modernize and align their curricula.
As a key component of the practical training, UPCH will facilitate opportunities for UNAQ students to participate in Kaizen projects organized by the INDEX Chihuahua association. These projects allow students to apply continuous improvement methodologies to solve genuine industrial challenges. Beyond training, both institutions have committed to collaborating on the development of strategies, prototypes, and innovation models, focusing on competitive technologies and emerging fields such as drone maintenance and broader aerospace engineering applications.
This strategic alliance is expected to significantly enhance the technical and professional training of students, directly contributing to the innovation and competitiveness of Mexico's aerospace industry.
