Chihuahua engineer collaborates in aircraft modernization for the US government

Abigail Jiménez Juárez, a graduate of the Polytechnic University of Chihuahua (UPCH), is part of an international team of specialists collaborating on the modernization of military and executive aircraft for the US government.
Jiménez participates in the Aircraft Recapitalization project, which focuses on renewing air fleets through the incorporation of advanced technology. Her work has ranged from designing electrical harnesses to strategic tasks at plants in Texas and Washington.
The young aeronautical engineer's professional career began while she was still in college. During her tenth semester, she did an internship at Textron and was later hired by Safran after applying for a position in the design department. Thanks to her command of technical English and her performance, she was invited to join other plants specializing in the development of technologies for the US Air Force and Department of Defense (DoD).
Jiménez admits that design was not her favorite subject during her studies. However, she emphasizes that perseverance was key to successfully completing a project with such a significant international impact. She currently works at the Denton, Texas, plant, where her twin brother, a chemical engineering graduate, also works.
In addition to her current duties, she participates in a training program in the Manufacturing Engineering Department, through which she seeks to continue her professional development in new areas of specialization.
The Chihuahua engineer expressed her pride in being the first in her family to attend university and thanked her family for their support, as well as the academic guidance she received from UPCH, especially the director of Aeronautical Engineering, Tamara Peinado, who encouraged her to master technical English.
The Polytechnic University of Chihuahua is currently accepting applications for its Aeronautical Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering programs, with the goal of continuing to train professionals capable of competing at the international level.
