Chihuahua maintains industrial momentum within the IMMEX program

The CIES presented its overview of the Manufacturing, Maquiladora, and Export Services Industry (IMMEX) for May 2025, highlighting Chihuahua's solid contribution to national added value.

During this period, the state ranked sixth nationally, with a cumulative added value of US$6.2 billion, representing 6.6% of the national total. In addition, Chihuahua recorded annual growth of 9.0%, consolidating its role as an economic engine in the north of the country.

This added value is made up of three key elements: wages paid to employed personnel, representing 13.0% of the national total; the purchase of domestic inputs, with a 3.2% share; and the consumption of goods and services, which accounts for 7.9% at the national level.

Despite the progress, the average degree of national integration was 8.59%, indicating a high dependence on imported inputs, as only 6.55% of the inputs used were of domestic origin during May.

The evolution of industry in Chihuahua reflects both challenges and opportunities. With a solid foundation in employment and production, the challenge will be to increase national integration to strengthen the local economic impact and reduce external vulnerabilities.
