Chihuahua seeks commercial and academic alliances with Texas

During a working tour of Austin, Texas, the governor of Chihuahua, Maria Eugenia Campos, held meetings with representatives of the business and academic sectors in order to strengthen the bilateral relationship and explore opportunities for economic and educational collaboration.

Accompanied by state officials from the areas of innovation, education and security, the governor participated in a meeting with the Texas Association of Business (TAB), where strategies were discussed to promote the internationalization of Chihuahua companies, attract investment in strategic sectors and encourage the development of industries with high potential in the border region.

Glenn Hamer, CEO of the TAB, acknowledged the state's efforts in terms of security and investment conditions, and expressed his willingness to collaborate on initiatives to strengthen the shared economy between Texas and Chihuahua.

The agenda also included a meeting with Jim Davis, interim president of the University of Texas at Austin, in which possible cooperation schemes in areas such as continuing education, research and technological development were discussed. Among the topics discussed were electromobility, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and academic exchanges.

In addition, mechanisms were explored to share best practices in laboratories and design centers focused on automation and robotics, as well as proposals to strengthen the teaching of English in the state.
