Chihuahua strengthens ties with Quebec

The Chihuahua State Government reinforced its strategy to attract foreign investment by presenting to business leaders from Quebec, Canada, the competitive advantages that position the state as a strategic hub for industrial and technological development in North America.

The presentation was led by the Chihuahua Ministry of Innovation and Economic Development (SIDE) and the Chihuahua Economic Development Agency (Prodech), which highlighted the state's economic dynamism, its integration into global value chains, and the strength of its productive infrastructure.

The head of SIDE, Ulises Fernández, underscored the strength of strategic sectors such as electronics, aerospace, and mining, in addition to pointing out the economic similarities between Chihuahua and Quebec, which open up opportunities for technological and industrial collaboration.

During the meeting, the consolidation of the state's aerospace cluster was highlighted, recognized for its integrated supply chain and the presence of leading companies that have found Chihuahua to be a competitive environment for high value-added operations. Likewise, the package of fiscal and non-fiscal incentives was presented, as well as strategic projects such as the San Jerónimo Development Pole, designed to boost new investments in advanced manufacturing.

Among the sectors with the greatest potential were electromobility, secondary mining, medical devices, and the electrical-electronics industry, areas aligned with global trends in nearshoring and production relocation.

As part of the agenda, the Canadian delegation will visit the Institute for Technological Development Support to learn about the specialized training model offered by Cenaltec, which focuses on strengthening the technical talent required by the industry in the state.

The participation of business organizations and municipal authorities highlighted the public-private partnership model promoted by Chihuahua, consolidating its position as a reliable and competitive destination for international investment.
