Chihuahua to Support Six Agribusinesses at FOODEX Japan 2026

The state of Chihuahua will sponsor six local agribusiness companies to participate in the Mexican Pavilion at FOODEX Japan 2026. The international trade fair is scheduled for March 10-13 at the Tokyo Big Sight Fairgrounds.

The initiative is coordinated by the state's Secretariats of Rural Development (SDR) and Innovation and Economic Development (SIDE). The support targets micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) that are formally incorporated and operate in the food, beverage, and agribusiness sectors within Chihuahua.

The application period will be open from November 3 to 28, 2025, or until all available spaces are filled. Interested parties can find the call for proposals at the official website, www.chihuahua.gob.mx/sdr, and on the social media channels of SDR and SIDE.

FOODEX is a premier global event for the food industry, featuring more than 2,900 exhibitors from 47 countries and attracting over 72,000 industry professionals. The fair provides a platform for networking, business meetings, and creating export opportunities, particularly within the Asia-Pacific market.

The state-sponsored support package includes an exhibition space, stand design and construction, Spanish-Japanese interpreter services, translation of promotional materials, a specialized training program, a curated business agenda, and networking sessions with international buyers. Institutional support will also be provided in coordination with the Mexican Embassy in Japan.

Officials from SIDE and SDR stated that the program is designed for companies with export-ready products that are viable for the Asian market. The initiative aims to help Chihuahuan agribusinesses solidify their international presence and capitalize on opportunities to diversify their markets, with a focus on sectors such as meat, fruit, and beverages.
