Chinese Automaker Xpeng Enters the Market with Two Models

Xpeng Motors, an electric vehicle manufacturer based in Guangzhou, China, announced its official entry into the Mexican market with the launch of two models, the G6 and the G9—a crossover and an SUV, both in the midsize segment.

The presentation was led by Alex Tang, director of the International Development and Service Center, and Eduardo Aranda, director of Operations for Xpeng Mexico, who highlighted “Xpeng’s deep commitment to the Latin American market” under its strategy of “AI-powered mobility for all.”

Both models were developed on Xpeng’s advanced 800-volt high-voltage silicon carbide (SiC) platform and feature industry-leading 5C ultra-fast charging technology, which offers superior performance.

Both models incorporate XPilot Assist (Intelligent Driving Assistance System), which enables high-speed driving, city following, automatic parking, and the Smart Summon feature.

Thanks to whole-vehicle voice interaction, multi-zone recognition, and customizable smart scenarios, both vehicles offer a smart, safe, efficient, and highly personalized mobility experience.

The Xpeng G6 has a starting price of 819,900 pesos (Long Range version), while the Performance AWD and Black Edition versions start at 889,900 and 919,900 pesos, respectively.

The starting price for the Xpeng G9 ranges from 1,099,900 pesos (Long Range Version) to 1,259,900 pesos (Performance AWD). The first 100 customers will also be eligible for a special offer with a discount of 20,000 Mexican pesos on each G6 variant.

“Mexico is a strategic market for XPENG in Latin America and globally. We are committed to providing exceptional products and hassle-free services to build a reliable sales and after-sales network,” Alex Tang said during the launch.

For his part, Eduardo Aranda said, “The customer experience is a key factor for XPENG Mexico. Therefore, we are confident that the G6 and G9 models, equipped with the latest AI technology and offering the best customer experience, will enable XPENG to become one of the most trusted and valued brands in Mexico.”

To consolidate its local presence, the automaker partnered with three of the largest dealership groups to oversee sales and service operations in its initial key markets: Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey.

The first dealerships will open their doors on April 6, with nationwide expansion expected in the coming months.

In addition, a national parts warehouse has been established in Mexico, covering 1,000 square meters and stocking over 2,000 part numbers, equipped with an efficient logistics system to offer delivery times of 1 to 3 days in key regions and 3 to 5 days nationwide.
