Coahuila seeks to attract more investment from semiconductor industry

JUAREZ, CHIH - Coahuila's Secretary of Economy, Luis Eduardo Olivares Martinez, attended the Third Mexico-U.S. Semiconductor Collaboration Forum in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, highlighting the state's importance in the country's automotive sector.

The event brought together key players in the semiconductor industry, from both the public and private sectors, who discussed investment opportunities, technological development and strengthening the supply chain in Mexico and North America.

During the forum, Olivares Martinez highlighted Coahuila's strategic role in the development of the semiconductor industry.

Martinez highlighted Coahuila's efforts to attract foreign investment and consolidate its position as a benchmark in advanced technology.

“Coahuila is poised to collaborate in boosting the semiconductor industry, with a favorable ecosystem for investment and a highly skilled workforce in addition to robust infrastructure to support innovation and growth in the sector,” said Martinez.

The Forum included panels for the exchange of views on specific topics, such as attracting investment for chip development, in which representatives from leading companies such as Intel, Infineon Technologies, and Qualcomm participated.

Also discussed were the actions needed to implement the Collaboration Agreement and promote the semiconductor industry, established by the governments of Mexico and the United States.

The Secretary of Economy of Coahuila and Sofia Delgadillo Diaz, Director of Pro Coahuila, presented the initiatives that the Government of Coahuila is implementing to position the state at the forefront of the technology industry.

In Coahuila, they said, strategic alliances with universities and research centers stand out, as well as tax incentive policies to attract companies in the sector.
