CONCAMIN: INDEX plans to pursue a strategic agenda to strengthen the industry

Humberto Martinez Cantu, national president of INDEX, participated in the regular meeting of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of CONCAMIN, where the main challenges and opportunities facing Mexico’s productive sector were discussed.

The meeting, led by Alejandro Malagon, president of CONCAMIN, with the participation of Secretary General Eduardo Ramirez Leal; the delegate for the Northeast Region, Eduardo Garza Robles; and the president of INDEX Nuevo Laredo, Enrique Moran Romero, focused on the need to strengthen industrial competitiveness in a global environment marked by the relocation of investments and the growing demand for strategic infrastructure.

It was emphasized that the energy shortage is currently one of the most critical challenges facing Mexican industry, as it limits growth potential, disrupts supply chain operations, and reduces competitiveness relative to other markets; Mexico risks missing out on the momentum of nearshoring and the influx of new manufacturing investments.

The organization also emphasized that unity among chambers, associations, and industrial bodies is essential for driving economic development, investment, and job creation in Mexico.
