Customs Tariff would increase airplanes’ cost

According to the Mexican Federation of the Aerospace Industry (FEMIA), if a customs tariff is applied to exports of aeronautic components made in Mexico and shipped out to the U.S., the cost of these products would increase, as well as the airfares. FEMIA's General Director, Luis Lizcano, stated: “In this industry, there is no protecting anything with a custom's tariff measure, on the contrary. If the production costs are increased, you could favor the entrance of other global players”. If the U.S. applies custom's tariffs on Mexican imports, it would also have to do so with the rest of the countries.
