MERIDA — The Merida City Council is using drones to disinfect common areas of the historic center of the city and prevent an increase in COVID-19 infections in the state.
These works are coordinated with the company Prospective Vision, which provides the service through the DJI Agras MG-1P model drones.
With this action, more than 4 million square meters will be covered in the town, which is why it is expected to be implemented in other areas such as markets, parks and public areas.
"We are one of the first Yucatecan municipalities to initiate actions of this type; we want the inhabitants to feel confident that their authorities are doing everything in their power to care for all their families," stated Renán Barrera, mayor of Mérida.
