Echo Global Logistics announces US$9.9 million investment in Mexico City

The US firm Echo Global Logistics channeled an investment of US$9.9 million for the opening of its new operations center in Mexico City, in order to consolidate its presence in the country.

Troy Ryley, president of Echo Mexico, commented that the company's vision in Mexico is long-term despite Donald Trump's tariff threat and the expectation of the review of the USMCA.

“We are not here to leave the country from one day to the next; we are not here to leave because of development issues and changes in the political infrastructure,” Ryley said in an interview.

He added that there is confidence in Mexico for the development of transportation and logistics.

“This is the first time we have channeled direct investment in Mexico, in personnel and infrastructure. We plan to invest over US$10 million in the next four years,” said the executive.

In addition, Echo invests US$80 million annually in systems and in the purchase of transportation from companies in Mexico.

Mauricio Rubio, the company's Director of Operations in Mexico, agreed that the company will look for alternatives to continue operating in Mexico.

Echo Global Logistics focuses on supply chain management services and cross-border transportation.

It has been in Mexico for eight years, with operations in Monterrey and Guadalajara.

It will soon seek to have a presence in the Bajío region.

He stressed that the company's new headquarters is part of the firm's growth plan and reaffirms its commitment to simplify transportation management with local and specialized solutions.

“Foreign trade is not going to stop from one day to the next, we will have to be creative in the way we are going to solve it. The investment that the company is making is an indicator that we are betting on the country and we do not see that it is going to stop,” he said.

He also recalled that the company has also established operations in Monterrey and Guadalajara, consolidating its presence in the main logistics corridors of the country, as part of its growth strategy.

He said that Echo in Mexico offers customs services, warehousing and cross-border land transportation for imports and exports, mainly to companies in the automotive, consumer goods and manufacturing industries.
