Expo Plasticos 2026: Pushing the future of manufacturing, in Guadalajara

The 2026 edition of Expo Plasticos kicked off in Guadalajara, Jalisco, with an opening ceremony that brought together state officials, representatives of industry associations, and industry leaders, marking the start of the event.
The day began in the morning with a formal ceremony led by members of important organizations in the plastics and manufacturing industries. They were accompanied by a mariachi band performing the tune “Son de la Negra,” which led into a tour of the exhibition floor.
In his opening remarks, Jorge Arizmedi, the event’s director, emphasized that the industry faces an increasingly demanding environment, marked by cost pressures, changes in supply chains, and growing customer demand.
He emphasized that competitiveness is a central focus for companies in the sector, which implies moving toward more efficient, sustainable, and technology-driven processes.
On behalf of the Jalisco Ministry of Economic Development, Laura Romero highlighted the event’s importance as a platform for strengthening national supply chains, particularly in light of the new North American trade environment.
Expo Plasticos positions itself as a key meeting point to foster collaboration between industry, academia, and government, at a time when Mexican manufacturing seeks to strengthen its competitiveness and capitalize on nearshoring.
