Foreign Ministry recognizes Querétaro’s aerospace leadership

Governor Mauricio Kuri González welcomed Raquel Serur Smeke, Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs for Latin America and the Caribbean, and Oscar Fredy González, candidate for Secretary General of the Latin American and Caribbean Space Agency (ALCE), who highlighted Querétaro's leadership in the aerospace sector and proposed the state as the venue for the assembly that will officially establish the agency as part of the space race in 2026.

During the meeting, federal authorities and ALCE representatives underscored the competitive advantages of Querétaro's aerospace ecosystem, characterized by its industrial infrastructure, research centers, specialized academic training, and the presence of international companies in the field.

Governor Mauricio Kuri reaffirmed the state government's willingness to collaborate on projects that strengthen the country's scientific and technological development, particularly those linked to the aerospace industry, one of the strategic sectors for the state's economy.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary of Sustainable Development, Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero, and the Secretary of Education, Martha Elena Soto Obregón, who reiterated Querétaro's commitment to consolidating its position as a national hub for innovation, talent, and highly specialized manufacturing.
