Foxconn to Launch Electric Vehicle in the US at the End of the Year

Technology subcontractor Foxconn plans to introduce its first electric vehicle to the US market at the end of this year. The launch will be carried out through an alternative brand to its automotive division Foxtron, whose identity has not been revealed.
This was announced by Seki Jun, strategic director of the company's electric vehicle business, to the international press during an event at the corporate headquarters in Taiwan, where he added that the vehicle, based on Foxtrot's Model C, will be produced at the Lordstown, Ohio, plant that Foxconn acquired from General Motors in 2022.
The Model C is the first product developed on the open EV platform of Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Foxconn's parent company, and is aimed at the mid-size segment.
It features a panoramic sunroof and has a drag coefficient of 0.27, acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds, and offers an extended range of 435 miles.
As with the iPhone and other products that Foxconn manufactures for third parties, the company appears to be betting on an outsourcing model to expand its automotive business rather than marketing its vehicles on its own.
The company recently formalized its first contract with a global automaker, Japan's Mitsubishi, to produce a model focused on the Australian and New Zealand markets, which will be introduced in the second half of 2026.
