New Faurecia plant in Guanajuato begins trial production runs

A new Faurecia plant in San Jose Iturbide, Guanajuato, has started trial production runs aiming to begin formal operations before this year ends, Periodico am reported.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled in the first quarter of 2018.
The company’s 15th plant in Mexico will feature industry 4.0 components, which will make it the most modern factory of this group in the country, revealed Francisco Maciel, general director of Faurecia Mexico during a tour by the facility along with representatives of the French Embassy.
This location will be focused on the manufacture of exhaust systems (clean mobility), with an initial investment valued at US$ 48 million. In order to kick start the first stage, 200 new hires have been considered, with a maximum of 700 positions to be filled once the facility reaches its full capacity.
