Fuji OOZX Will Invest 10.2 MDD in a Plant in Guanajuato

Fuji OOZX will invest approximately US$10 million to expand its plant in Guanajuato and increase its production capacity to 2.3 million units per month. The project is expected to begin soon to strengthen the company's supply chain in North America.
The Japanese company Fuji OOZX Co., Ltd. is seeking to expand the production capacity of its subsidiary FUJI OOZX MEXICO, S.A. de C.V., located in the state of Guanajuato; through this investment, they will develop a strategy to strengthen the supply chain.
The decision was approved by the company's Board of Directors and includes the expansion of the plant building, as well as the installation of new production lines to increase the Mexican subsidiary's manufacturing capacity.
According to the company's press release, the purpose of the investment is to respond to changing demand in North America and to comply with the economic security and international trade policies set forth in the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). For this reason, the company seeks to strengthen the resilience of its supply chain by further localizing production for products destined for the North American market.
The project involves an investment of 10,175 million U.S. dollars. Although, the company did not specify the types of components that will be manufactured as part of this expansion, it emphasized that the investment is focused on increasing production capacity.
FUJI OOZX MEXICO, S.A. de C.V. is a company dedicated to the manufacture of auto parts. Its subsidiary plant is located in the state of Guanajuato, has share capital of US$31 million, and is led by Junichi Fukuda, president and CEO of the operation.
