GAC confirms operations center in Mexico

GAC Mexico announces that it will begin operations at its first assembly plant in the country, thereby becoming the first Chinese automotive brand to take this step in the domestic market.

This development is part of the global “One GAC 2.0” strategy, which focuses on driving the company’s international expansion through a model of sustainable growth, local development, and greater proximity to consumers under a clear principle: from Mexico, for Mexico.

Since its arrival, the brand has built its value proposition on two fundamental pillars: quality and premium character. This positioning is underpinned by its global track record, as it is the only Chinese automotive brand to have received J.D. Power quality awards for eight consecutive years.

Initially, the plant will operate under a flexible assembly model, capable of adapting to different types of vehicles and technologies, including internal combustion engines, hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and electric vehicles. Models such as the EMZOOM, GS8, AION UT, and GS7 reflect greater agility and a more diverse and competitive product lineup.

The operation strengthens the company’s structure in Latin America and lays the groundwork for the future development of production capabilities, research, and commercial expansion. In this phase, the focus will be on meeting domestic market demand, aligned with a strategy of sustained, long-term growth.
