GAC opens its first agency in Mexico
CANCUN, Q. ROO - GAC Motor has inaugurated its first official distributor in Cancun, Quintana Roo, in association with Grupo DC, marking the beginning of a new stage for the Chinese automaker in the Mexican market.
GAC announced its arrival in the Mexican market last November, with two gasoline SUVs: GS8 and EMZOOM. The former is GAC Motor's flagship in Mexico: it is almost 5 meters long and can seat up to seven passengers with three rows of seats.
It is equipped with a 2.0 Turbo DI four-cylinder engine that delivers 248 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The Emzoom is a 4.4-meter subcompact SUV with seating for up to five passengers and a 341-liter trunk. This model will be marketed in four trim levels.
It has a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 174 hp and 199 lb-ft of torque coupled to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Rafe Huang, president of GAC Motor Mexico, expressed his enthusiasm for the opening of the first GAC agency, highlighting Grupo DC's experience and legacy as key factors in providing Mexican customers with satisfactory service.
Grupo DC is a company specialized in the distribution, sales, financing, repair and service of various brands in the Yucatan Peninsula.
GAC Motor and Grupo DC have plans to establish two additional points of sale for the rest of 2024, extending their coverage to other important municipalities in the Yucatan Peninsula.
