German investment amounts to US$1.6 billion in Querétaro

Germany is one of the countries with the greatest investment in the state of Queretaro, accumulating US$1.6 billion in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) between 2006 and 2024, according to the records of the Ministry of Economy (SE).
Therefore, German investment is the fourth with the highest capital injected in the state, representing 8.9% of the total FDI received by Queretaro between those years.
It ranked below the United States, Canada and Spain, which occupied the first three positions.
In 2024 alone, German investment amounted to US$276 million, and in that year it was the second largest foreign investor in the state, accounting for 26.2% of the total. It was surpassed by the United States, which remained in the first position of foreign investment, contributing almost half of the total.
During the year that concluded, German investment grew by 67.8% with respect to the US$164.5 million it reached in 2023.
With the accumulated investment from 2006 to 2024, Querétaro was positioned as the sixth state with the greatest attraction of German investment.
Puebla is the state with the most FDI from Germany, due to the fact that in the 18 years of reference it has attracted US$7.4 billion, that is, 21.3% of the investments of that origin that have arrived in the country.
In second place is Mexico City with US$6 billion (17.2%); followed by the State of Mexico with US$3.8 million (11%), Jalisco with US$3.3 billion (9.5%), San Luis Potosi with US$3.3 billion (9.5%) and, in sixth place, Queretaro with US$1.6 billion (4.6%), reports the federal agency.
In those years, German FDI amounted to US$35.2 billion in Mexican territory; all states have records of investment flows of that origin.
