According to a report by GM Authority, General Motors is quietly working in the development of a new V8 gasoline engine with a power displacement “well over” 8.0 liters.Â
The report, which cites inside sources from the automaker, explains that such engines would be used in future Class 7 trucks that GM allegedly develops in a joint collaboration with Navistar, hence the heavy truck manufacturer is likely involved in the development of the V8.
The development of Class 7 trucks would be the next step of a successful history of collaborations between both companies that have given way to other products such as the Class 4, 5 and 6 2019 Silverado Medium Duty and International CV chassis cab trucks.Â
