Guanajuato seeks to boost the aerospace value chain

The president of the Guanajuato Aerospace Cluster (BJX Aerospace), Oscar Rodriguez Yañez, described the Aerospace & Advanced Manufacturing Summit 2026 as an event aimed at promoting the region’s value chain at the national and international levels.
At the 5th edition of this event, Yañez stated that “it is not a massive gathering, but rather a meeting that must have a clear direction to help us connect capabilities, accelerate projects, and do business—which is what matters most.”
The Summit was attended by nearly 30 companies, whose delegations were responsible for promoting their products and networking opportunities; this was one of the main goals Yañez proposed in his speech, in addition to bringing together partners to manufacture parts and components and build aircraft, as Horizontec already does in Celaya, where they produced the Halcon 2.1.
The head of BJX Aerospace also called for integrating the supply chain, developing talent, and promoting capabilities within the ecosystem to expand it further.
The event also featured a series of panels addressing opportunities in the aerospace supply chain, financing opportunities, inshoring, and operational excellence.
The Secretary of Economy for Guanajuato, Cristina Villaseñor, highlighted the 141 companies integrated into the aviation value chain that have generated more than 2,000 specialized jobs and US$18 billion in exports by 2025.
Also, in attendance at the ceremony were Luis Camargo, director of advisors at the Ministry of Economy; Luis Azua, president of FEMIA; Luis Lizcano, CEO of FEMIA; Alejandro Cardona, head of Safran Mexico; and General Disraeli Gomez Herrera, director of FAMEX.
