Harman inaugurates its fourth plant in Querétaro
QUERETARO - Harman inaugurated its fourth plant in the state, to produce infotainment systems for vehicles.
"In this facility, the US company invested US$115 million and will generate 1,100 jobs," according to the Secretariat of Sustainable Development (Sedesu).
Michael Mauser, Harman's president and CEO explained that in Querétaro, the company manufactures complex equipment, high-end audio systems and telematics units that serve major OEMs.
Harman plants, he added, have evolved into engineering, advanced manufacturing, research and development.
The Secretary of Sedesu, Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero, said that it is one of the first companies to form part of Querétaro's Circular Economy System, which links industry, academia and government to create projects that make the most of resources.
During his speech, the president of the Querétaro Automotive Cluster, Raúl Lizarriturri Martínez, spoke about Harman's participation in promoting decarbonization and the adoption of the circularity system in both its processes and its suppliers.
Harman is dedicated to the design and manufacture of connected products and solutions for automotive manufacturers, as well as consumers and businesses globally, including connected car systems, audio and visual products, business automation solutions and connected services.
