At the end of February, market share of Daimler Trucks MĂ©xico increased to 43.2% in the Class 6-8 segment, which the company attributed to its new strategy with a total focus on customer satisfaction.

"With a total focus on the customer, this result confirms our position as the undisputed leader at the national level in terms of commercialization of vehicles for cargo transportation," said in a statement Flavio Rivera, president and CEO of the company.

During last month, the Cascadia model remained as the flagship vehicle of the Freightliner brand and the preferred one of Mexican carriers. Of the total of these marketed units, 92% is equipped with DD15 engine, which reaffirms the success of this pair in the national market.

A segment in which the company sees growth potential is that of cab over engine vehicles, whose sales during December 2017 exceeded the initial expectations by 10%.

Daimler Trucks North America owns manufacturing facilities in Saltillo, Coahuila and Santiago Tianguistenco, State of Mexico, where it builds Freightliner Cascadia Class 8 trucks, Freightliner’s Business Class M2 medium-duty truck models and Freightliner’s heavy-duty models, including the FLD Series, Century Class, Columbia and Coronado.

It also operates the Mercedes-Benz Buses Plant, a state-of-the-art location for chassis and body production in Garcia, Nuevo Leon, with the help of Marcopolo.

This plant produces around 4,000 units a year, for all segments: urban, suburban and coaches, among the highlights of them, the market’s most successful model: Boxer, chassis MBO; a modular chassis designed by Mexican engineers, along with Brazilian and German support.
