Bulk containers manufacturer Monoflo International opens new plant in Guanajuato

Monoflo International Inc., a Virginia-based manufacturer of plastic pallets and bulk containers, has started manufacturing operations in León, Guanajuato, Central Mexico, as part of a joint venture with an undisclosed partner, Plastic News reported.

The production facility will focus on injection molded production of bulk collapsible containers for the automotive industry.

By building containers in Mexico, the company plans to reduce shipping and logistics costs of importing these products from the U.S., but it will also help to increase its local market share. The company operates another two manufacturing facilities in Winchester, Va., and Ottawa, Kansas.

Other Monoflo products such as hand-held units and pallets will continue to be shipped to Mexico from the two U.S. sites.
