Jabil Celebrates 25 Years in Chihuahua

Global manufacturing solutions provider Jabil commemorated its 25th anniversary in Chihuahua with a ceremony announcing the launch of "Jabil Academy," a new training program developed in partnership with the Technological University of Chihuahua (UTCH) and the state government.
The initiative aims to enhance the technical skills and professional development of its workforce.
The company, which first established operations in Chihuahua in 2000, has grown to become a major local employer, with a current workforce of over 10,000 people across the state, including 8,500 in the capital city.
Rafael Renno, Senior Vice President of Global Business Units, highlighted Chihuahua's strategic importance to Jabil.
He noted that the location is one of the company's most significant global sites and emphasized that its role is poised to expand further with the evolution of artificial intelligence. Sándor Kékesi, Senior Director of Operations at Jabil Chihuahua, acknowledged the crucial support of UTCH in designing the new academy's curriculum.
Governor Maru Campos underscored the state's industrial prominence, stating that four out of every ten electronic circuits in Mexico are manufactured in Chihuahua. She positioned the state as a key part of the "Semiconductor Route," vital to North American supply chains.
The Governor also highlighted ongoing local talent development, noting that over 200 Chihuahua engineers are enrolled in a specialized semiconductor program at Arizona State University, with an additional 22 young professionals training at the Industrial Technology Research Institute in Taiwan.
Mayor Marco Bonilla also participated in the ceremony, recognizing Jabil's significant contributions to the local economy and praising its model for successfully linking the education sector with industry needs.
