Juárez companies receive Inclusive Tourism award at sustainability forum

During the Forum on Sustainability and Social Responsibility in Tourism, ten companies from different municipalities in Chihuahua were awarded the Inclusive Tourism certification, a recognition that seeks to promote accessibility practices for people with disabilities in the tourism sector.

The director of Tourism Quality, María Soto, explained that this award is part of the State Development Plan and the Sectoral Tourism Program, and that its purpose is to encourage the incorporation of actions such as adapted signage, accessible infrastructure, and improvements in spaces intended for visitors with different needs.

Jorge Chávez, representative of the Ministry of Tourism in the Northern Zone, pointed out that the participation of companies in these processes contributes to strengthening inclusion in the state's tourist destinations and advancing toward higher standards of social responsibility.

Among the companies recognized in Ciudad Juárez are Hotel Gamma, Istay Hotel, Hotel City Express Junior By Marriott Consulado, Hotel Mesaluna, and Hotel Mesaluna Short & Long Stay. In other municipalities, the Hotel María Bonita, Chihuahua Bárbaro, Hotel Los Cedros, Cabaña La Orquídea, and Hotel Casa Grande received the distinction.

With this award, a total of 20 awards have been given in 2025 to tourist establishments in the state, in an effort to expand accessibility in tourism offerings. The forum also included presentations and panels on sustainability and social responsibility, focused on promoting more sustainable practices within the sector.
