Juarez promoted at smart city fair in Taiwan

The licensed municipal president of Ciudad Juarez, Cruz Perez Cuellar, participated in the “Smart City Summit & Expo 2025 Fair” in Taiwan, where he gave a presentation on the Municipal Government's investments in technology and public safety.

During his speech, he addressed topics such as the adhesion to the smart cities network, the development of smart commercial corridors, technology education and training, as well as support to entrepreneurs and alliances with the private sector. Also present at the event was El Paso County Judge Ricardo Samaniego.

Perez Cuellar attended the fair at the invitation of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office. The event, which takes place from March 18 to 22 in Taipei and Kaohsiung, is considered the largest in Asia in terms of smart cities and brings together technology companies from different parts of the world. Among the main topics discussed at the forum are artificial intelligence, sustainability, security and smart mobility.

According to local data, Taiwanese companies generate approximately 40,000 direct jobs and 80,000 direct and indirect jobs in the electronics industry in Ciudad Juarez. As part of his agenda, Perez Cuellar plans to visit corporate companies with presence in the city, such as Wistron, Foxconn, Pegatron, Inventec and Wiwynn.

On this work trip, the mayor is accompanied by the director of the Municipal Institute of Research and Planning (IMIP), Roberto Mora Palacios; the IT advisor, Raúl Monárrez; and the businessman Octavio Fuentes.
