Kia Mexico opens recruitment center in Nuevo León

On its tenth anniversary in Mexico, and despite the uncertainty caused by US tariff policy, KIA Mexico reaffirmed its strategy of training local talent with the opening of its new Recruitment Center in Apodaca, Nuevo León.

This space seeks to strengthen the link between staff and the automaker's operating culture from the start of the selection process.

With this new Center, Kia Mexico seeks to ensure that each new team member has the necessary tools to contribute to maintaining and raising quality standards, while also providing a space where they can develop professionally and personally.

"Since the company's arrival 10 years ago, we have found the best talent in Mexico in this region. Recruitment has been a key process for Kia, as thanks to our employees we have established ourselves as the leading automotive operation in the country," said Young Sam Kim, president of Kia Mexico.

On the other hand, at the Recruitment Center, new candidates can learn about the facilities, production processes, and specific responsibilities of each area—stamping, welding, painting, and assembly—from the very first contact.

Currently, the Kia Mexico plant employs more than 2,500 people in two shifts and produces approximately 281,000 units of the K3 and K4 models annually.

This is the only Kia plant in the world that manufactures both models, which are exported to more than 190 international destinations.

To date, it has produced more than 2 million units in its history, making it the fastest automotive plant to reach that figure in Mexico.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Young Sam Kim, president of Kia Mexico; Federico Rojas, state secretary of labor; Francisco del Olmo, general secretary of Union Section 15; Joaquín del Olmo, legal advisor to the same union; María Cristina Flores, secretary of economy for the municipality of Apodaca; and Gerardo García, secretary of urban development, ecology, and transportation for Apodaca.
