KIA to Invest US$600M in Nuevo León

KIA has announced a US$600 million investment in Nuevo León aimed at strengthening its manufacturing capabilities and advancing its transition toward electromobility and sustainable operations.

The investment will be directed toward the expansion and modernization of its plant in Pesquería, including the implementation of new production lines aligned with electric vehicle manufacturing. It also includes sustainability initiatives such as the installation of solar panels, improvements in energy efficiency, and the development of water treatment systems to reduce environmental impact.

This move reinforces the strategic importance of KIA’s operations in Mexico within its global network, positioning the Nuevo León facility as a key hub for innovation and future mobility solutions. The project aligns with the company’s broader vision of reducing emissions and adopting cleaner technologies across its production processes.

In addition to its technological and environmental benefits, the investment is expected to generate new jobs and contribute to regional economic growth. It also strengthens Nuevo León’s position as a leading industrial center in Latin America, particularly in the automotive and electromobility sectors.
