LG confirms new investment in Querétaro

LG Innotek will set up a new production center in Querétaro, where it will invest US$190 million.

The Korean manufacturer will produce cameras, LEDs, motors, and automotive components at this plant, the Querétaro state government confirmed in a press release.

The factory will be located in the Kaizen Industrial Park in Colón, a municipality in west-central Querétaro. In the first stage, it will employ 630 people.

The investment was announced after company executives met with local authorities.

In a video, Governor Mauricio Kuri González reported that the company has plans to increase the number of workers at this plant.

“They are going to invest about US$190 million. The first part of the plant will have more than 600 employees, and they tell me that they want to double that number in a short time and continue to grow the employment side. In Querétaro, we know that the best social program is employment, that these kinds of world-renowned companies come here. Here in Querétaro, we have the best talent,” he said.

The new investment will be added to the company's existing operations in the state, as it already operates a plant in San Juan del Río, where it has 600 employees.
