LG Electronics inaugurates new plant in Coahuila

RAMOS ARIZPE, COAH - LG Electronics has inaugurated a new plant in the Santa María Industrial Park, consolidating its presence in the automotive sector in Mexico with an investment of more than US$60.5 million.

This facility will generate 400 direct jobs in the region and will focus on the production of high-tech components for electric and internal combustion vehicles.

Among the products to be manufactured at this new plant are telematics systems, which enable communication in vehicles, as well as navigation, audio, and video devices.

This is the first LG plant in Mexico dedicated exclusively to the automotive sector, while the company's other facilities in the country focus on the production of household appliances and entertainment devices.

Ana Carolina Cano, director of Human Resources at LG Electronics Ramos Arizpe, highlighted that this factory is part of the LG Vehicle Component Solutions division, founded in 2003 and with operations in Brazil, Vietnam, China and Poland.

“We are committed to driving better future mobility. Our vision is to become the most preferred and iconic Tier 1 supplier in the mobility market, creating the most innovative and immersive in-cabin experience for both our OEM customers and drivers,” she said.

Cano added that the company's efforts seek to combine technology and sustainability.

“We want to be pioneers in the development of technologies that allow us to improve all aspects of mobility, giving it greater safety and comfort, always with respect for the environment,” she said.

The event was attended by various authorities and executives, who highlighted the relevance of LG's arrival for the regional economy.
