Light vehicle exports rise in Nuevo Leon

In March 2026, the state of Nuevo Leon recorded a 20.3% increase in light vehicle exports, shipping 19,939 units abroad—well above the national average for the same period.

During the first quarter of the year, Nuevo Leon exported a total of 58,679 light vehicles, a 13% increase compared to the same period in 2025, pointing to a sustained trend in manufacturing activity focused on foreign markets.

The United States accounted for 66.3% of shipments, followed by Canada with 8.3%, Colombia with 4.9%, Germany with 2.6%, and Australia with 2.6%.

“These results confirm the strength of the automotive industry in Nuevo Leon and its strategic role in global value chains,” said Secretary of Economy Bestabe Rocha.

Beyond the numbers, the state is establishing itself as a key hub in the automotive export route, where production, demand, and the sector set the pace within the industry.
