L’Oréal will allocate US$80 million to its two production plants in Mexico

L'Oréal, a beauty products company, announced that it will invest more than US$80 million in Mexico in 2026.
According to the French firm, the goal is to expand production lines at its plants in San Luis Potosí and Mexico City, which together generate more than US$420 million units annually.
According to the Ministry of Economic Development (Sedeco), L'Oréal's plant in San Luis Potosí is a benchmark for industrial infrastructure. It is a complex with a capacity of 39 packaging lines that operates with renewable energy, in line with the global program “L'Oréal for the Future.”
The plant has a total area of 178,700 square meters (m2) with an operational building of 49,716 m2.
On the other hand, the Xochimilco plant (Mexico City) stood out for its 25% savings in water consumption, benefiting the local community given the scarcity of water in the area.
A study by the consulting firm Asterès highlighted that L'Oréal not only generates direct jobs but also has a multiplier effect that drives the industry, strengthening local value chains and sustainable growth.
Currently, the company directly employs more than 2,800 people in the country, and even 15 additional jobs for each formal position.
“This effect is distributed among suppliers of raw materials, packaging, distributors, beauty salons, and other businesses related to its consumer ecosystem.”
