Mecalux committed to use AMR robots for logistics

During the Logistics World Summit & Expo, Lluis Fuster, director of Mecalux Mexico and Central America, noted that the steady increase in the minimum wage and the potential reduction in working hours have been factors that have accelerated the adoption of technological solutions in the logistics sector.
Fuster explained that the impact of labor costs is particularly significant in warehouse operations, where wages tend to be lower and labor-intensive work is constant.
At the event, Mecalux presented solutions such as autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), automated storage systems, and management tools like its Easy WMS software. These technologies enable warehouses to operate with less human intervention, reduce the risk of accidents, and maintain continuous operations 24 hours a day.
The executive noted that AMRs replace traditional functions, such as the use of forklifts, eliminating risks associated with manual operation.
Mecalux has been present in Mexico for over 25 years and globally for 60 years, with operations in Europe and the Americas; its offerings range from conventional racking to advanced automation systems, enabling it to address different stages of logistics maturity within companies. Notable clients in Mexico include companies such as Solistica, General Motors, Adidas, and Yokohama.
The trend toward automation is driven not only by cost factors but also by the need to improve safety, precision, and operational continuity.
