The developer Meor officially launched Hubspark Tech Campus, its fourth project in Tijuana, Baja California. It is a Class A technology park that is part of the firm's growth strategy in Mexico.

According to the company, this is the first of five stages of a complex that will reach 650,000 square meters (m2) of rentable area, making it the largest logistics or industrial park on the national border.

The first phase will comprise 120,000 m2 and an approximate investment of US$150 million. In this regard, Javier Camarena, CEO of Meor, added that the project will be completed in seven years and an investment of up to $800 million is contemplated.

“I can't think of another way we could demonstrate our commitment to developing infrastructure, not only in Tijuana but throughout the country,” he said.

During the presentation, Camarena assured that Hubspark Tech Campus is one of the company's most ambitious projects.

“It is designed to attract global companies from sectors such as manufacturing, electronics, and medical devices, mainly American. It is designed with an innovative and sustainable approach, ideal for attracting greater investment to the region.”

For his part, Jonathan Pomerantz, CIO of Meor, shared that, parallel to the construction of the complex, an urban center with comprehensive solutions will be developed.

“This will have commercial and entertainment areas, as well as daycare centers and schools. It will also generate an ecosystem among companies, experts, and different professionals.”

In addition, he shared in an interview with Inmobiliare that it is estimated that up to 6,000 direct jobs and 10,000 indirect jobs will be created.

Finally, the executives expressed their gratitude for the collaboration of local authorities, which has facilitated Meor's expansion in the state, where it is estimated that they own 50% of its leasable area.
