Mercado Libre Opens Largest Logistics Hub in Mexico

Mercado Libre has strengthened its logistics network in Mexico with the opening of its new distribution center, XEM3, in Cuautitlán Izcalli, State of Mexico. This facility is now the company’s largest logistics hub in Latin America and represents a joint investment of approximately US$140 million with industrial developer Vesta.
The center covers around 80,000 square meters and operates under a cross-docking model, which allows packages to be processed and dispatched quickly without long-term storage. This system helps reduce delivery times and improve efficiency across the company’s distribution network. In its initial phase, the hub can handle up to 550,000 packages per day, with plans to increase capacity to nearly one million daily shipments through further automation.
Thanks to its strategic location near major highways, railway connections, and the Felipe Ángeles International Airport, the facility enables faster distribution to Mexico City and other key regions across the country. This positioning supports Mercado Libre’s goal of expanding same-day and next-day delivery services in dozens of Mexican cities.
The new logistics center will play a key role in supporting thousands of small and medium-sized businesses that use Mercado Libre’s platform to sell their products nationwide. By improving delivery speed and reliability, the company aims to strengthen its ecosystem for entrepreneurs and online merchants.
This project is part of Mercado Libre’s broader expansion strategy in Mexico, where it already operates more than 100 logistics facilities, including fulfillment centers, last-mile stations, and its air hub in Querétaro. With this investment, Mexico continues to consolidate its position as a strategic market for the company’s operations in Latin America.
