Mexican exports to the U.S. grew by 3.5% in February

Mexico's product exports to the United States grew at an annual rate of 3.5% in February, to US$41.6 billion, the Census Bureau reported.

Conversely, Mexican imports from the United States registered a 0.1% decrease to US$26.7 billion.

With these results, Mexico remained the top trading partner of the United States, adding import and export flows, with a 14.7% share.

The corresponding shares of the next two most important U.S. trading partners were as follows: Canada (13.7%) and China (10.0%).

Canada exported goods to the U.S. market for US$34.925 billion, an advance of 4.6%, while China shipped products to the same destination for US$31.6 billion, a 0.8% decrease, at year-on-year rates.

On the other hand, U.S. exports to its northern neighbor amounted to US$28.3 billion, a 0.6% decrease, while exports to the Chinese market totaled US$10.4 billion, a 12.9% decrease.

These results occurred as U.S. President Donald Trump continued to implement a series of new tariffs that are changing the order of international trade on a global scale.

In February 2025, total imports of goods to the United States stood at US$288.1 billion, an increase of 18.8% over the same month in 2024.

Its exports in the same month were US$167.6 billion, an increase of 0.3% year-on-year.
