Mexican Senate approved the statement with the Agreement for Airborne Transportation

The Commission for Foreign Trade of the Mexican Senate, unanimously approved the statement containing the Agreement for Airborne Transportation between Mexico and the US, subscribed by both nations, in Washington D.C. During the discussion, Yuriria Mascott, Subsecretary of Transportation of Mexico's Secretariat of Communications and Transportation, pointed out that aviation transit from Mexico to and from the US, made up for 68.5% of total air transit in Mexico during the last year. According to a statement issued by Mexico's Senate, Marcela Guerra Castillo, Secretary of the Commission for Foreign Trade, asserted that this agreement provides an opportunity to transform the structure of the aviation sector, with the need to have equality and increase competitiveness, safety and viability, while establishing better regulatory practices for this industry in Mexico.
