Mexico’s aerospace industry to grow 14.7% by 2030

MEXICO - The national aerospace industry will reach a value of approximately US$3 billion in 2030, which will result in a growth of 14.7% compared to 2025, according to forecasts by the Mexican German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Camexa).

According to data offered by the business organization, in the current year, the size of this sector stands at US$32.6 million.

“The Mexican aerospace industry has emerged as a key player in the global market, with a trajectory of steady growth since the early 2000s. Taking advantage of its strategic location, skilled labor and strong government support, Mexico supplies components to major global aerospace companies,” said the business organization.

The Camexa noted that Mexico is the world's tenth largest producer, focusing on the manufacture of aircraft parts for final assembly lines in the United States and Canada.

“European companies are investing in Mexico, attracted by the skilled labor force and strategic location,” the business organization maintained.

It indicated that some companies that announced expansion in their operations are Diehl Aviation, Safran and ITP Aero.

At the end of last year, Safran Aircraft Engines Mexico announced the inauguration of a new extension to its Queretaro plant, which represented an investment of US$35.2 million and the creation of 128 specialized jobs.

The company said at the time that this injection of resources was a strategic decision to expand assembly operations for the A320 family of aircraft.

It should be recalled that the Mexican Federation of the Aerospace Industry (Femia) considered that in spite of the existing scenario in the face of Donald Trump's government, the sector will have a growth of more than 10 percent, due to the continued demand for aircraft.
