Nexteer will invest US$20 million in Queretaro
QUERETARO - Nexteer Automotive Mexico, Tier 1 leader in motion control technology, laid the first stone of its new Technical Center in El Marqués, Querétaro.
This expansion represents a further step to improve the company's engineering capabilities locally, with the aim of offering greater responsiveness, agility and quality for its OEM customers in Mexico.
Abiel Villarreal, Vice President and COO of Nexteer Automotive Mexico, expressed his gratitude for the support received from local authorities and the Queretaro Automotive Cluster.
"Their support will allow Nexteer to consolidate this facility, provide opportunities for talented professionals and offer access to a skilled workforce in close proximity to our customers and suppliers,' he said.
The new facility is expected to be completed by 2026, at which time 150 current Nexteer Mexico employees will transition to the new location.
The company projects that the expanded MXTC will create 400 new jobs by the end of 2026, further strengthening its presence and contribution to the development of the automotive industry in Mexico.
Covering 8,350 m2, this new facility will house a number of key capabilities, including electric power steering (EPS), steering column innovation, pre-production prototype validation, product testing, vehicle integration, and office areas for customer service and commercial functions.
Nexteer will build a Technical Center in Mexico to validate a production line, which will generate 400 jobs in 2026, as well as an investment of US$20 million in private capital.
