NHK Spring Mexico inaugurates plant in Irapuato

The Governor of Guanajuato, Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, led the inauguration ceremony of NHK Spring Mexico's Motor Core production plant at the Castro del Río Technoindustrial Park in Irapuato.
"I am very pleased that today we can renew our commitment to work together and reaffirm our trust between Japanese companies and Guanajuato. NHK Spring Mexico and Guanajuato are consolidated as great allies," said the Governor before the Japanese company's executives.
The installation of this plant was announced by Libia Dennise during her work tour in Japan at the beginning of May, when she announced the investment of US$55 million and the creation of 233 new jobs.
“For me it is an honor to accompany you executives in the inauguration of this plant called ‘Motor Core Plant’, it is also a wonderful opportunity to reiterate our gratitude for the cordiality and hospitality in that visit we had last May 8, in Yokohama”, said the State Governor.
This new investment by NHK Springs in Guanajuato reaffirms the confidence of foreign investors in the state, despite the climate of uncertainty at the international level.
In Mexico, NHK Spring began operations in 2014 at its plant located in the Castro del Rio Industrial Park in Irapuato. In 2017 it announced an expansion with an investment of US$50 million and the generation of 244 jobs.
This year, 2025, NHK Spring expands the new plant located next to the existing plant in Castro del Río, where it will manufacture engine cores for electric and hybrid vehicles, allowing it to optimize processes and increase its production capacity.
NHK Spring is recognized as one of the world's leading manufacturers of automotive suspension springs. It was founded in 1939, accumulating more than 80 years of experience in the industry.
Its main products include automotive suspension springs, precision springs, automotive seats, industrial machinery and safety technologies and solutions. It specializes in the innovation of materials and manufacturing processes for springs, optimizing their durability and performance.
This new plant is part of the US$105 million accumulated in investment projects completed during the tour of Japan at the beginning of May.
