Nissan Mexicana, the brand with the largest share in the Mexican domestic market
MEXICO – Between January and May 2021, the automotive industry recorded the sale of 428,312 new vehicles, of which 21.1% corresponds to Nissan Mexicana, the brand with the largest share in the country's domestic market.
This is higher than the figure recorded in the first five months of 2019, when Nissan's market share stood at 20.5%.
It is worth noting that during May of this year, Nissan sold 17,120 new units, representing a decrease of (-)13.7% compared to 2019.
However, the automotive industry is further away from recovering pre-pandemic levels than the Japanese company, registering a decrease of (-) 16.3%.
The Japanese brand has similar figures in terms of automotive production. In the first five months of the year, Nissan Mexicana manufactured 248,551 units, representing 18.6% of the industry's total production, which stood at 1,331,746 vehicles.
