Nissan renews manufacturing leadership in North America

Nissan Motor Co. announced that, effective December 15, Victor Taylor has assumed the role of vice president of Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain Management, and Production Engineering for the United States.

The decision is part of the Re:Nissan restructuring plan, a multi-year roadmap that includes aggressive changes in how the Japanese automaker produces and monetizes its vehicle offerings.

Taylor, an industry veteran with less than 10 years at Nissan, previously served as vice president of Manufacturing at the Canton, Mississippi, assembly plant, a position he assumed in December 2023.

The executive, who has more than two decades of experience in advanced manufacturing, will be replaced at this location by Ricardo Anguiano, who began his career at Nissan Mexico in 1996 and has held key leadership positions in Canton since 2012, including director of production, director of the paint shop, and most recently, senior director of Manufacturing Operations at the plant.

“We are transforming the way we manufacture vehicles by driving smarter plants, seamless integration, and greater localization,” said David Johnson, senior regional vice president of Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, and Purchasing for Nissan Americas, when making the appointments.

Johnson said Victor's proven leadership in manufacturing and supply chain operations “will be critical to accelerating this transformation, strengthening production line agility, strengthening supplier partnerships and optimizing total cost of delivery to ensure Nissan can respond quickly and accurately to ever-evolving markets.”

As division vice president, Taylor will focus on optimizing operations at the three U.S. plants, strengthening alignment and consistency. In addition, he will lead supply chain and production engineering at the same locations.
