Nissan Versa Surpasses 800,000 Units Sold in Mexico

Nissan revealed that Versa sales in Mexico have surpassed 800,000 units since its launch in 2011, consolidating the domestically produced sedan as a key model for the Japanese brand, which has been the market leader in terms of delivery volume for 17 years.

“The Nissan Versa represents the best of Japanese engineering and Mexican talent. We are proud to know that a product made in Mexico has conquered thousands of roads inside and outside the country thanks to its quality, technology, and reliability,” said Rodrigo Centeno, president and CEO of Nissan Mexicana, regarding this milestone.

The model began to be marketed under its current name 15 years ago after the redesign of the Nissan Tiida and has since remained among the three best-selling options in its segment.

In 2024, Versa sales totaled 67,434 units, equivalent to a 33.1% share of its segment, one of the highest since records began.

The vehicle is exported to more than 25 countries, which has led it to be awarded by the US media outlet Car and Driver Editors' Choice as the “Best Subcompact Car” in 2023 and 2024.

In Latin America, it has been recognized for three consecutive years in the Fleet LATAM Awards as “Best Car of the Year for Fleets.”

Among the attributes most frequently mentioned in reviews are its spacious interior, fuel efficiency, handling quality, and value for money.

The 2025 version is available with LED headlights with Signature Lamps and 17-inch aluminum wheels.

It incorporates an advanced 7-inch driver assistance monitor, 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless charger, iKey smart key, and the NissanConnect Services system (available on the Exclusive version) that allows remote access to the vehicle, trip planning, and maintenance alerts.

The safety package includes advanced technologies such as Intelligent Emergency Braking (i-EB), Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection (I-AVM+MOD), and Intelligent Driver Alert Monitor (I-DA), as well as six airbags and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) as standard.

Its only engine option is a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder that delivers 118 horsepower and 110 lb-ft of torque, with an estimated fuel efficiency of up to 18.5 kilometers per liter (km/l) in the city, 24.95 km/l on the highway, and a combined consumption of 20.94 km/l. It also offers a class-leading trunk with a capacity of 482 liters.

In the domestic market, the 2025 Nissan Versa is available in six versions: Sense TM/CVT, Advance TM/CVT, SR, and Exclusive CVT.
