Norcast opens high-tech plant in Torreón

With an investment of approximately US$32.5 million, the company Norcast inaugurated a new plant in Torreón, generating more than 400 direct jobs. This facility will expand its production capabilities for parts using high-pressure aluminum injection and CNC machining processes, serving the automotive, lighting, and appliance sectors.
Strategic expansion in Mexico
The new plant is located in the Global Park Laguna industrial park, southeast of Torreón. The official opening ceremony was led by the governor of Coahuila, Manolo Jiménez Salinas, the state secretary of economy, Luis Olivares Martínez, and the CEO of Norcast, José Francisco Clariond.
Clariond revealed that this is Norcast's second plant in Mexico, following its initial facility in Monterrey. He also announced that the company plans to double its workforce next year, driven by increased demand for its products.
“This is not a maquiladora industry, but rather a value-added, engineering and technical industry with very high-specification products,” Clariond said during the event.

Future and projections
According to Norcast executives, the expansion does not stop there. An additional investment of similar magnitude is planned for 2027, with the construction of another plant of around 8,000 m². This plan is part of a strategy to strengthen the company's industrial presence in northern Mexico.
Another key factor in the decision to locate in Torreón was the availability of skilled labor. “There are very capable people here in Torreón,” said the executive, referring to local talent as a pillar for continued development.

Regional impact
Governor Jiménez Salinas praised the company's vision and highlighted the role of workers in the region as “the best team to continue succeeding and growing.” He also noted that Coahuila will close the year with more than US$8.1 billion in investments and more than 110 projects underway, despite challenges such as tariff changes.
With this new plant, Norcast consolidates its position as a benchmark for high-tech manufacturing in the region, strengthening the industrial ecosystem with value-added products and generating specialized job opportunities.
