Nuevo Leon: 1st of entities enrolled in the IMMEX program

Nuevo Leon entered the year consolidating its leadership in the Manufacturing, Maquiladora, and Export Services (IMMEX) program, ranking first nationally in both business creation and job creation.
According to official figures, during January, the state added four new IMMEX establishments, bringing the total to 739—the highest figure in the country—which means that nearly half of the program’s expansion was concentrated in the state of Nuevo Leon, generating 4,984 new jobs, while 905 jobs were created nationwide during the same month.
Nuevo Leon’s Secretary of Economy, Betsabe Rocha, commented that the results reflect the state’s industrial strength and companies’ confidence in its productive capacity. She also highlighted the impact on job creation and what this means for Mexican families.
“Every new IMMEX job represents an opportunity for families in Nuevo León; these results are the product of public policies focused on attracting investment, strengthening industry, and generating sustainable economic development,” she stated.
This is a response to Nuevo Leon’s integration into global value chains, as well as its infrastructure, human capital, and investment conditions, which have facilitated the establishment and expansion of companies in strategic sectors.
The IMMEX program—which allows for the temporary import of inputs for processing and export—is one of the main drivers of this dynamic. Thus, the state’s performance is not isolated but reflects an industrial model that today keeps it at the forefront of export manufacturing in Mexico.
