Phoenix Contact invests US$95 million in Querétaro

German technology firm Phoenix Contact has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Querétaro, investing approximately US$95 million and creating 700 specialized jobs.
Located in the municipality of El Marqués, the plant will focus on producing connectors, cables and sensors for key industries such as industrial automation and electronics. The facility spans around 22,000 square meters and has room for future expansion, reinforcing the company’s long-term growth strategy in North America.
The new site is expected to primarily serve the U.S. market, helping improve logistics efficiency and response times across the region. It also strengthens regional supply chains and supports the integration of manufacturing operations across North America.
The investment further consolidates Querétaro’s position as a hub for advanced manufacturing, where sectors such as automotive, aerospace and electronics continue to attract foreign capital. Industry data shows the state’s electrical and electronics sector has surpassed US$1 billion in exports, reflecting sustained growth and competitiveness.
Phoenix Contact’s expansion aligns with a broader trend of international companies choosing Mexico as a strategic base for high-tech production, driven by its skilled workforce, infrastructure and proximity to major markets.
