Ram 1500 TRX returns to Mexico, now in SRT variant

With the arrival of the New Year, Ram confirmed the return of its high-performance 1500 TRX pickup truck to the Mexican market, now with new technologies and features aimed at improving its performance courtesy of the SRT Performance sub-brand.
By incorporating the legendary 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 Hemi, the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX consolidates its position as the world's fastest and most powerful production gasoline pickup truck, setting new benchmarks in the half-ton segment.
When the TRX arrives at Ram dealerships in the second half of 2026, this super pickup will offer customers class-leading performance figures of 777 horsepower (hp) and 680 pound-feet (lb-ft) of torque, surpassing its closest competitor by 57 hp and 40 lb-ft, respectively.
The supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 channels its power through the high-capacity TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission and a permanent active transfer case, as well as all-wheel drive.

With Launch Control activated, the TRX SRT goes from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 120 mph.
“Just getting the name back isn’t enough. Ram already set the bar high five years ago with 702 hp, a figure that has now been surpassed. Since SRT is not content to just clear the bar, but always aims to exceed it, we felt that 721 hp simply wouldn't be enough. 777 hp? That's the new standard," said Tim Kuniskis, Head of American Brands, SRT Performance, Marketing and Retail Strategy for Stellantis in North America.
“And it's not just about power: it's an awakening, a statement of intent and a completely new direction,” he emphasized.
Customers will be able to choose to customize their TRX with the Bloodshot Night edition, a version that includes an exclusive two-tone design, with Blacktop upper paint and a central stripe on the hood in “Flame Red.”

Exterior highlights include striking graphics on the bodywork and wheels with beadlocks. Inside, carbon fiber trim with red accents, a glass-encased center console plate, and TRX emblems with red borders complete the striking and sophisticated style.
Each TRX features an R-A-M Flame Red emblem on the grille that adds a fluid and dynamic style, complemented by front and rear tow hooks in the same color.
SRT logos adorn the grille and tailgate.
Inside, the 2027 TRX offers unprecedented luxury: heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats, paired with reclining, heated, and ventilated rear seats, exclusive in its class.
The cabin features leather and suede accents, a 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen, dual wireless charging pads, and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
For the first time, the TRX comes standard with Level 2+ Hands-Free Active Drive Assist, enabling exciting yet relaxed driving. Together with the RHO, Ram becomes the only manufacturer of high-performance off-road pickups with hands-free capability.

SRT Hits the Road
The iconic Street and Racing Technology (SRT) performance division has once again brought together the best automotive engineering talent from Stellantis' four American brands to create a vehicle with power, precision, and passion.
The last time a Ram pickup carried the SRT badge was in 2006 with the legendary Ram SRT-10. Nearly two decades later, the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX marks the triumphant return of an iconic acronym to the Ram model line and opens a new chapter in the brand's performance history.
At the heart of the TRX is the legendary supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V-8, which SRT engineers boosted by more than 10% to deliver 777 hp and 680 lb-ft of torque, 40 lb-ft more than in 2024.
To feed the 2.4-liter twin-screw supercharger, a dual-path induction system draws cool air from the sides of the grille and from the center intake on the hood.
Both flows converge into a high-capacity radial filter, ensuring maximum air intake and even distribution for improved performance and durability.
The filter is located in an open air box to allow for quick cleaning in the field. The system includes a hood duct with a tortuous path and drainage gates for water and debris, ensuring that only clean, cold air reaches the engine.
The TorqueFlite 8HP95 eight-speed automatic transmission transfers power to the ground with fast, precise shifts, allowing gear jumps based on acceleration demand and optimizing efficiency and response. The improved 8HP95 offers more durability, performance, and torque control.

A BorgWarner 48-13 permanent active transfer case also contributes to the TRX's safe handling. With 4×4 all-wheel drive and selectable 4WD Auto, 4WD High (locked), and 4WD Low (locked) modes, it ensures optimal grip in almost any condition.
Among the modifications, a 2.64:1 reduction ratio stands out for precise towing maneuvers on steep terrain.
Finally, the TRX includes a dual sports exhaust system with X-crossover pipe, stainless steel construction, and 5-inch black dual tips, which provides both sound and an imposing appearance.

Cutting-edge suspension
As part of the Core/Customized/Off-road approach, the TRX 2027 leads the line of light-duty off-road pickups, building on the experience of the TRX 2021-2024 and the current Ram 1500 RHO.
Behind the standard 35-inch tires is an independent front suspension system with high-performance active damping, high-strength aluminum components, and forged aluminum upper and lower control arms.
The design of these arms keeps caster and camber angles under control throughout the suspension cycle, allowing for 13 inches of front travel from bottom out to full compression.
Spring rates, compression stops, and damping control are specially calibrated for the 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V-8.
At the rear, a Dana 60 axle with full floating axle shafts and electronic locking rear differential incorporates an axle sway damper to improve traction and control on uneven surfaces.
Ram's signature five-link rear suspension with coil springs ensures class-leading comfort and stability, while modified anchor points compared to the conventional Ram 1500 allow for up to 14 inches of rear travel.
The second-generation Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive dampers, which debuted on the Ram 1500 RHO, feature revised internal components and machined aluminum one-piece housings at both the front and rear.
Their robust construction, combined with aerodynamic cooling fins, allows heat to dissipate during extended suspension work cycles.

Dual electronic proportional valves, connected to remote nitrogen reservoirs via high-pressure stainless steel braided hoses, continuously adjust damping for precise, independent control of compression and rebound.
A durable finish protects against corrosion and adds aesthetic appeal to this cutting-edge suspension.
Ride comfort, body control, ground isolation, and maneuverability are optimized by the proprietary Ram Active Terrain Dynamics system, which adjusts traction and stability control behavior and works in conjunction with Bilstein Black Hawk e2 shock absorbers.
This system adapts rebound and compression based on surface and driving conditions, even anticipating jump situations to ensure a controlled landing.
The software is complemented by advanced hardware, including an improved urethane compression stop and three progressive stages in the Jounce Control hydraulic damping system (Jounce Cut-off), which provide exceptional control in extreme compressions, ensuring superior performance and comfort on all types of terrain.

Technology and Artisanal Leather
The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX retains the class-leading interior design and technology that have become Ram's hallmarks in the pickup segment.
The 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 reconfigurable touchscreen, the largest in its class, takes center stage on a handcrafted leather-wrapped instrument panel.
Thanks to Atlantis electrical architecture, the Uconnect 5 system offers up to five times faster operating speeds, increased memory capacity, and an ultra-fast touch response of just 0.05 seconds.
The TRX incorporates the multifunction switch bank below the center screen that debuted on the RHO, as well as the optional Trailer Reverse Steer Control, operated by a rotary selector.
Redundant HVAC controls allow for easy climate and heating adjustments, even with gloves on.
In addition, a quick-access drop-down menu at the top of the screen can be customized with frequently used widgets, such as the standard 360° camera system.
The standard dual wireless charging pad ensures that the driver and passengers never run out of battery power. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with conventional connectivity ports, ensure seamless technology integration for both travel and leisure activities.

The 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster can display nearly two dozen menus, including various driver assistance technologies such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Hands-Free Active Driving Assist, Driver Drowsiness Detection, and Speed Limit with Traffic Sign Recognition.
Above the instrument cluster, the full-color Head-Up Display (HUD) with a 10-inch field of view projects key information without the driver having to take their eyes off the road.
Available data includes digital tachometer, speed, off-road gear, as well as safety features such as Lane Departure, Lane Keep Assist, ACC, and turn-by-turn navigation on pavement. All HUD settings can be customized and saved in driver profiles.
The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX will arrive at Stellantis dealerships in Mexico in the second half of 2026. Its starting price has not been disclosed.
