Rocío Guerrero Leads Manufacturing at Mazda Mexico

Rocío Guerrero has been appointed Vice President of Manufacturing at Mazda Mexico, becoming the first woman to hold this position within the company in the country.
Originally from Salamanca, Guerrero has built a strong career within the organization, accumulating more than a decade of experience. Her professional growth has been closely tied to the development of Mazda’s manufacturing operations in the region, one of the company’s most important production hubs outside Japan.
Her appointment represents not only a personal achievement, but also a broader step forward for female representation in traditionally male-dominated industries. In her new role, she will oversee manufacturing operations, facing the challenge of maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and global competitiveness.
The leadership change comes at a key moment for Mazda in Mexico, as the company continues to strengthen its industrial footprint and expand its regional strategy. Guerrero’s role will be central to sustaining this momentum.
Beyond the organizational impact, her promotion reflects a wider transformation within Mexico’s automotive sector, where talent and capability are increasingly outweighing long-standing barriers. Her leadership sets a precedent and opens the door for more women pursuing careers in technical and high-level industrial roles.
With this move, Mazda reinforces not only its operational structure but also its commitment to a more inclusive and forward-looking industry.
